‘Yester You’ #Poem #WadeRadford #Poetry

Taken from my 2014 Poetry collection ‘The Warrior of The Landfill’ Now out to buy on Amazon Kindle & Paperback (Worldwide).

The man with looks goes slithering by,

you wonder who would dare pass you by?

then you realise yesterdays you, passed you by!

A mirror for the vanity, dusty, cobwebbed vanity,

A mirror won’t make a man of he,

when ruled and led by vanity!

A mirror for the imagery, the fit and buffed imagery,

Blinded by reality, that actually it’s only averagely,

When lied to about his imagery!

A mirror for the smiling face, the non disgraced, sweet smiling face,

Only believed by a fucking basket case,

Is the lies that cover that sweet, smiling face!

A gym figure for those abs in place, and the guns that lay in those arms today,

Worked all week, for the buff bodied taste,

Was the gym figure for this arrogant disgrace!

The man with looks goes slithering by,

you wonder who would dare pass you by?

then you realise yesterdays you passed you by!

A mirror for the wrinkled fool, who lost them all, for he is  a fool,

to believe those looks would outlast them all,

When all he really is, is an old aged fool!

A mirror for the man who cries, who can’t take the old age lines,

who wonders why life ain’t so kind,

he realised those age old lines!

A mirror for the memories, of taking a pick of the crop did he,

behind us now, is promiscuity,

Ugly age is recognised by he!

A mirror for the casket close, the one he wants the very most,

to lay down his bitter soul,

and bury the ruin in the deep, dark hole!

The man with looks goes slithering by,

you wonder who would dare pass you by,

then you realise yesterdays you passed you by!
